About

Cooking Apple was born from a desire to dress my own children in traditional yet wearable clothes. The designs are inspired by forgotten patterns and styles, which are then knitted up in beautiful colours. Each piece is hand-knitted in the Cotswolds by a very small, loyal team.

Today, perhaps more than ever before, people appreciate the value of traditional skills and the quality and luxury associated with hand-made items.

We are the antithesis of mass-produced, high-street clothing brands and take pride and pleasure in what we create. As our turnover is small, we are able to offer a personal touch, filling individual requests wherever possible. Whilst the telephone might not be answered on the first ring, we will get back to you the same day and endeavour to have orders on your doorstep within 2-3 weeks.

We are able to offer a bespoke service - different colour combinations, specific lengths - this has been popular for bridesmaid and page boy outfits. Do contact me if you would like to discuss your own requirements.  Our tank tops have proven eminently wearable pretty much year round - few other items of clothing look equally at home in town or country.

The yarn used for our classic tanks is a lambswool-kid mohair mix which makes it extremely soft and extraordinarily warm. When washed with care (preferably by hand or on a very gentle 'woollen cycle', using wool detergent) it will last a lifetime. Our Fair Isle tanks are knitted up in a merino wool-alpaca mix which has the desired tweed effect, perfect for Fair Isles.

If you need any more information do please telephone or email me and I would be delighted to help.
